Prospective parents are welcome to visit the school, please make an appointment beforehand.
Great Bedwyn School is a controlled school and, therefore, the school admission arrangements are determined by the Council. Parents are to apply for a place via their local area authority. Our catchment area roughly covers the villages of Great Bedwyn, Little Bedwyn, Chisbury, Marten, Wilton and East Grafton. The full Wiltshire Council catchment area list can be accessed here.
Online applications for those living in Wiltshire can be made via www.wiltshire.gov.uk.
All Reception children will be offered full time provision whenever their birthday falls. Parents will be able to defer entry to school but not beyond the academic year in which they are due to start.
Transfer to Secondary School
Applications for a place at secondary school must be made through Wiltshire Council in the Autumn term of year 6.
Transfer arrangements for our Year 6 pupils going to St John’s are sent to parents during the Spring Term prior to their children starting in September. These arrangements include visits made to St John’s by our Year 6 pupils and Parents Evenings when you can visit the school and meet the teachers who will be directly involved with your child/children.
