Residential Trips

At Great Bedwyn we believe that residential trips provide an opportunity to learn beyond the classroom.  All activities enable children to further develop their resilience, communication and problem solving skills, building upon skills taught and developed in the school.  Trips foster independence and self-confidence and provide children with a sense of achievement.

At Great Bedwyn, Year 4 and Year 6 spend time away.

  • Year 4

We take children to PGL when they are in year 4. This is a two night stay within the Wiltshire borders that is the first step for some children to stay away for the night. The activities vary from year to year but they may include archery, orienteering, a giant swing experience and climbing.

  • Year 6

In Year 6 we visit the UK Sailing Association (UKSA) in Cowes on the Isle of Wight.  We take part in the following activities: sailing, paddle boarding, raft building, windsurfing and other water based activities.
