At Great Bedwyn we believe that residential trips are crucial to developing independence and confidence.
We take children to Oxenwood when they are in year 4. This is an overnight stay within the Wiltshire borders that is the first step for some children to stay away for the night. The activities vary from year to year but they may include, a walk to an Iron Age fort, a canal walk, archery, cycling, canoeing, a climbing wall and an evening walk down spook alley!
The school has visited Wales for many happy and successful years where the children have taken part in abseiling, climbing, canoeing and caving.
In Year 6 we visit the UK Sailing Association (UKSA) in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. We travel by boat and ferry and take part in the following activities: sailing, paddle boarding, raft building, windsurfing and other water based activities.
